Get onto the pages AI assistants cite
AI assistants lean on the same few roundups and comparisons when they answer. When one of those pages names your competitors but leaves you out, TrySEO finds who wrote it, their work email and a message you can send them.

What you get
The pages behind the answers
Every week, TrySEO reads the pages AI assistants use to answer your customers' questions and flags the ones that name competitors but not you.
The right person to ask
TrySEO finds who wrote each of those pages and their work email at the page's own domain, up to 10 contacts a month.
A message ready to send
Each contact comes with a short, polite note and an entry about your business in the page's own style, written only from facts on your site.
You send it yourself
TrySEO never emails anyone for you. You decide who to contact, edit the note if you like and send it from your own inbox.
Why do the pages AI assistants cite matter?
When ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google's AI Overviews answer a question like “what's the best help desk for a small team?”, they often search the web first and build the answer from a handful of pages: roundups, comparisons, reviews and forum threads. The brands those pages list are the brands the answer tends to name.
That makes those pages unusually valuable. If a roundup that assistants keep citing lists three of your competitors and not you, a fair entry on it is one of the most direct ways into the answers themselves.
This isn't link building. The aim is to be described accurately on a page that already shapes AI answers, not to collect backlinks, and TrySEO doesn't ask for links or promise any mention or ranking. What goes on a page is always up to its author.
What does TrySEO do, and what do I do?
Every week, TrySEO collects the pages behind the assistants' answers to your questions, reads the ones used in more than one answer and checks which brands each one names. The pages that name your competitors but leave you out go to the top of your dashboard, with how many answers drew on each.
On Growth, TrySEO then finds who wrote each of those pages, from its byline or metadata, and looks up their work email at the page's domain, verifying it with the mail server where it can. You get up to 10 contacts a month. Each comes with a short note asking whether they'd consider adding you, and a two- or three-sentence entry that says what your business is and who it's for, using only facts from your own site.
Then it's over to you. Open the page, check it really does leave you out, edit the note if you like and send it from your own email. TrySEO doesn't send anything on your behalf.
- The pages assistants cite again and again for your questions
- Which of them name your competitors but not you
- Up to 10 author contacts a month, with their work email
- A ready note and an entry written from your site's facts
- Every message sent by you, from your own inbox
What if a page has no author, or isn't an article?
Not every page says who wrote it. When there's no byline, or no address can be found, your dashboard says so and suggests trying the site's contact page instead.
Some cited pages are directories or forum threads rather than articles. For a directory, you get the entry to add to your listing. For a thread, you get a short, helpful reply that says plainly it comes from your business.
Every plan shows the pages AI assistants cite, flags the ones that leave you out and suggests an entry for each. Growth adds the author contacts, so you know exactly who to write to.
Citation outreach in three steps
We read the pages AI cites
Each week, the pages behind the assistants' answers to your questions are read and checked for the brands they name.
We find who to ask
For the pages that name competitors but not you, TrySEO finds the author and their work email, up to 10 a month.
You send the message
Edit the ready note if you like, then send it yourself. The page's author decides whether to add you.
Questions, answered
Does TrySEO send the emails for me?
No. TrySEO finds the contact and writes a message you can use, but it never emails anyone on your behalf. You choose who to contact and send each message yourself, from your own address.
Is citation outreach the same as link building?
No. The aim is a fair, accurate entry on pages that AI assistants already use as sources. TrySEO doesn't ask for links, doesn't build backlinks and doesn't promise that anyone will add you. Whether a page mentions you, and how, is up to its author.
How many contacts do I get?
Up to 10 a month on Growth. Only pages that name your competitors but leave you out are looked up, and each page only once. Some months there may be fewer, for example when the pages behind the answers already name you or don't say who wrote them.
How are the email addresses checked?
Each address is looked up at the page's own domain and checked with its mail server. Some mail servers accept any address, so they can't confirm that a mailbox exists. Your dashboard marks those, so you know which addresses are unconfirmed.
Is citation outreach included in Starter?
Starter shows the pages AI assistants cite, flags the ones that leave you out and suggests an entry for each. Finding the author and their work email is part of Growth, and you can switch plans from your dashboard at any time.
